Mica is a generic term that applies to a group of complex aluminosilicate minerals that have a sheet or plate-like structure and with different chemical composition and physical properties.

Remarkable crystal structure of mica permits them to be split into very tiny and shiny layer as 1µ.

Moscovite, Phlogopite, Biotite, Vermiculite, Lepidolite, Zinnwaldite, and Roscoelite are considered as the commercially important mica minerals.
